Do I need AI to use Blocwrite?

No. Assist and Companion are off by default and Pro-only. Lite covers chapters, Plan, checkpoints, Share, and basic export without AI. Format Studio is Pro and does not require an AI key.

Is there a free plan?

No free forever tier. After you create an account you start a 7-day Lite or Pro trial at Checkout with a card. Cancel before it ends and you won’t be charged.

How does the trial work?

After you create an account, choose Lite or Pro at Checkout. Stripe starts a 7-day trial with a card on file. Cancel anytime before it ends and you won’t be charged. Lite (£7.99/mo) is unlimited novels and Share without AI. Pro (£10.99/mo) adds Format Studio, Continuity, Assist, Coach, and share cards.

What is Format Studio?

A Pro surface in Studio: book templates, ebook and print preview, themed EPUB, print PDF, store-sized cover crops, and generated print cover templates sized to your trim and spine. Tick only the stores and files you want before you download. Humanizer runs on Pro export so invisible paste marks don’t hitch a ride.

How do Assist and Companion work?

Both are Pro. Connect your own AI key. Assist is the selection bar: Continue writes the next lines, Scene drafts the next beat, plus Ask, Suggest, and Refine. Companion is chat beside the page for sticky plot or character questions. Both preview first. Nothing enters the manuscript until you Accept. Pro also includes Continuity in Codex and Humanizer on Accept and Format export.

What is Continuity?

A Pro Codex check that scans your book for slips (names, timeline, viewpoint) with a local engine first. You accept findings; AI only helps fix what you choose. It sits beside the draft so you can catch issues before beta readers do.

Is my writing used to train anyone's AI model?

Blocwrite does not train AI models on your writing. When Assist or Companion runs, your prompt goes through our servers to the provider behind the key you plugged in, then the reply comes back. We do not keep those prompts as training data or sell your manuscript. Your novel can still sync to your account so you can work across devices. What a provider does with API traffic is governed by that provider's terms, which is why we use your key, not ours.

Can I bring in a manuscript I've already started?

Yes. Import a Word (.docx) draft and continue from wherever you left off.

What can I export to?

On Lite: EPUB, PDF, and Word. On Pro Format Studio: themed EPUB, print PDF, D2D Word, print cover templates, and optional store cover JPEGs for KDP, Apple Books, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and Draft2Digital.
