Terms & Conditions
The boring but important bit.
1. Agreement
By accessing or using Blocwrite, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Service scope
Blocwrite provides a writing studio for long-form work, including chapter drafting, story-bible/workbook references, optional AI-assisted generation and rewriting, comments, proofread tools, and export/share capabilities.
3. Account and access
You are responsible for account credentials and activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate details and keep them current.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Paid features are accessed through subscription. Billing and renewals are handled by Stripe. Trial and refund treatment is described in the Refund Policy.
5. Ownership and content rights
You retain ownership of your writing, drafts, and project content. Blocwrite does not claim ownership of work produced on the platform. Blocwrite platform code, design, trademarks, and branding remain our property.
6. Data and privacy
We use your data to operate the service and do not sell your writing. You are responsible for backups and for how you share links to manuscripts.
7. AI features and external providers
AI tools are optional and depend on your chosen provider/model. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before publication.
8. Acceptable use
You must not use Blocwrite for unlawful activity, abuse, harassment, unauthorized access attempts, or service disruption. Forum and community areas must be used respectfully and lawfully. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend, or permanently ban accounts where we reasonably believe these Terms are breached or user safety is at risk.
9. Collaboration and shared writing
Collaboration features are provided as workflow tools between users. The original author remains the primary controller of the canonical manuscript in Blocwrite. Collaboration partners are responsible for agreeing their own writing relationship, expectations, credits, permissions, and approvals. Blocwrite is not a party to those agreements and is not responsible for disputes between collaborators.
10. Availability and liability
We aim for reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. To the maximum extent allowed by law, liability is limited.
11. Changes to terms
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Continued use after updates means acceptance of the revised terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to customerservice@blocwrite.com.
